Physical Therapy in Oregon has unrestricted direct access. With few exceptions (such as Medicare) you do not need a referral to start services.
PT2U is currently in-network with Medicare, Regence/BSBC, Moda, and PacificSource. We also have an hourly cash-pay rate.
We take PPO plans out of network at the same rates as in-network for most plans. At this time we still take UnitedHealthcare out of network.
If you have questions on your specific insurance please check out our insurance and billing page, and if you still have questions contact us!
At this time we are solely focusing on mobile PT services as the Rogue valley’s oldest outpatient mobile physical therapy clinic, established in 2018 and insurance based since 2023.
This enables us to work with your schedule, reduce costs, and maintain the ability to always work one-on-one with you, without being double booked with another client.
PT2U’s home hub is in Phoenix, OR.
Our general service area extends Ashland through Central Point on the I-5 corridor, into Jacksonville, and into Eagle Point proper. Unfortunately Shady Cove, Rogue River, Butte Falls, and Grants Pass are currently outside our service area. We hope to be able to provide services to these areas soon as we hire more therapists!
Destinations outside the general service area may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the clinic with any questions.
All appointments are 100% one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, with their clinical and diagnostic knowledge base, for evaluations, re-evaluations, or discharges. We do employ Amanda, a Physical Therapy Assistant (with her own national level board license) for follow-up appointments if a patient desires her expertise. You will also have the same therapist each visit instead of being scheduled with whomever has availability. All follow-up appointments are scheduled by your therapist around both of your schedules.
After hours or weekend appointments are considered on a case-by-case basis. We strive to maintain a balance of being able to work around our client’s schedules while also maintaining our therapist’s quality of life outside the work environment. These appointments will typically be considered for true emergencies or acute need post op (such as arthrofibrotic debridement of a knee replacement), and will not be considered for simple convenience, to maintain the work life balance of our therapists.
Your first visit is a full 60-minute evaluation. We assess not just the injured or painful area but any relevant interconnected areas. You will also begin exercises on the first visit - we do not hold treatment until a second appointment. Before your evaluation visit, you will need to complete and sign our Financial and Consent to Treat form along with standard intake paperwork, which we send in advance.
PT2U provides outpatient-level physical therapy in your home - the same clinical standard as a traditional outpatient clinic, without the commute. Home health PT is a separate Medicare benefit reserved for patients who are homebound and requires a physician order. PT2U patients are typically mobile and active in their recovery, choosing in-home visits for convenience, scheduling flexibility, or post-surgical practicality, not because they cannot leave home. Outpatient PT also offers more clinical latitude in treatment intensity and goal-setting than home health.
It's important to note that insurance will not cover us if there is a home health episode open, even if therapy is not included. We can see you at the same time, but those services will never be covered by outpatient insurance and will be private pay.
PT2U most commonly treats spine pain including back, neck, and thoracic conditions; prehabilitation and post-operative recovery for total knee replacement (TKA) and total hip replacement (THA); balance and fall prevention training; and vestibular rehabilitation. We also commonly work with shoulder injuries and thanks to Amanda joining our team have a women's health / pelvic health specialist.
Yes. We regularly work with patients in the early post-surgical phase and often start services the day after surgery, including those on weight-bearing or range-of-motion restrictions. We coordinate with your surgeon's team and work with them to optimize your recovery from day one.
PT2U's cash-pay rate is $150 per hour. This option is available for patients whose insurance we do not contract with, those who prefer the flexibility of self-pay, or those who have exhausted their insurance benefits. We are also happy to provide a superbill for self-pay patients to submit to their insurance independently.
PT2U brings all necessary treatment equipment. You do not need to prepare anything special. It helps to have a clear floor area that can accomodate a portable massage table, and comfortable clothing you can move in. If you have any home exercise equipment such as bands, weights, or a foam roller, have those accessible - we may incorporate them into your program.
We require 24-hour notice for cancellations. Because PT2U is a mobile practice and our therapist travels to your location, late cancellations impact our schedule significantly. We appreciate your courtesy in notifying us as early as possible if you need to reschedule.
